Borussia Dortmund Take 1-0 Advantage to Paris in Champions League Semi-Final

Niclas Fullkrug's Goal Proves Decisive in First Leg Clash

Match Report

Borussia Dortmund stunned Paris Saint-Germain with a 1-0 victory in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash at Signal Iduna Park. The Bundesliga side took the lead through Niclas Fullkrug's first-half strike and held on to their advantage despite pressure from the French giants in the second half.

The hosts started brightly and came close to opening the scoring in the early stages when Jude Bellingham's shot flashed just wide. Dortmund's dominance paid off in the 32nd minute when Fullkrug pounced on a loose ball in the box and fired a low shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

PSG had their chances to equalize after the break, but they were unable to find a way past Gregor Kobel in the Dortmund goal. Kylian Mbappé had a glorious opportunity in the 65th minute, but his shot was well saved by the Swiss goalkeeper.

The result gives Dortmund a slender lead heading into the second leg at the Parc des Princes on 7 May. PSG will need to win by two goals to advance to the final, while a 1-0 victory for the visitors would see them through on away goals.
